Loose Electrical Wall Outlet
Being fairly simple, you need to start by turning off the breaker. After it is off, use the voltmeter to check the voltage supplied to the outlet. Until the outlet becomes flushed to the wall, unscrew the cover plate and put some outlet shims.
Broken Light Switch
To remove the faceplate, put off the circuit breaker and then use a flathead. If there is electricity supply, use the Phillip head in removing the light switch and test the wires connected to the screw. If there is no electricity, then disconnect before reassembling the light switch.
Short Circuit Problems
Hairdryers and other small appliances sometimes short circuit or trip. The appliance is faulty if you reset the breaker, but the problem still occurs. It may be that short wiring or receptacle needs urgent attention.
Cut or Damaged Extension Cord
First, you need to unplug both ends, then cut off the old plug before scoring and peeling back the insulation jacket in this situation. Utilize the wire stripper to strip each wire then twist each wire tightly at the end. Gently screw them to the back of the plug with the black screwed to Gold and the white to the silver screw once finished. To secure the wires, close the plugs.
Flickering & Dimming Lights

Excessive heat buildup can cause melting wires, which in turn can cause dead outlets due to tripped poor connections, or tripped breaker.

A sign that the circuit is overloaded with too much electricity is frequently tripping breakers. Upgrading the electrical system should be considered.
